List of foods that help promote hair growth

Our bodies need proteins, complex carbohydrates , healthy fats , vitamins and minerals to grow strong, shiny hair. Inadequate nutrition, extreme diets, or illness can lead to hair loss. Your body prioritizes the nutrients it enters, for example our vital organs and systems receive vitamins and minerals first.

Only later do our hair follicles and nails receive the nutrients that are left. Eating a well-balanced diet high in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins A, B and C, and iron will aid in the growth of beautiful, healthy hair. But which fruits and vegetables actually benefit our hair growth? Read this

Carrots

Carrots are an excellent source of vitamin A. This vitamin can keep our scalp healthy – this can ensure healthy, shiny hair. Try snacking on carrots and humus throughout the day to get a healthy dose of protein, monounsaturated fats, and complex carbohydrates.

Citrus fruits

Citrus fruits contain inositol, a type of sugar linked to glucose, also known as vitamin Bh. Inositol not only lowers cholesterol and helps your body break down fats, inositol also ensures that hair becomes less thin and can even protect against hair loss.

Dark green leafy vegetables

Spinach, Swiss chard, kale, and bok choy all contain vitamins A and C, which help the body to produce sebum. Sebum is an oily substance made by hair follicles that acts as a natural conditioner for your hair. These vegetables also all contain calcium and iron, two minerals necessary for hair growth.

Avocados

Avocados are a good source of vitamin E, an important vitamin for healthy hair growth. Other sources of Vitamin E include olive oil , vegetable oils, nuts , and seeds.

Cherry juice

Cherry juice is a rich source of iron. Anemia is a common cause of hair loss, so ensuring that our daily diet contains adequate amounts of iron can help prevent anemia. Dark green leafy vegetables, dates, raisins, and dried fruits are other examples of nutrients that are high in iron.

Berries

Blueberries, raspberries, and cranberries contain powerful antioxidants that promote hair growth by improving circulation on the scalp. The dark pigmentation in these berries comes from healthy bioflavonoids, rich in vitamin C.
