In some cases, cardiovascular disease might cause fatal death. For example, in a stroke, blood and oxygen do not flow as normal to the brain, possibly causing paralysis or death.
Type 2 diabetes
Being overweight increases the risk of suffering from type 2 diabetes. Fatty acids floating around in the bloodstream may promote insulin resistance, and this will cause blood sugar level are always above normal range. High blood sugar is the major cause of kidney disease, blindness, amputation, and most of the cardiovascular diseases.
It is important to know that overweight people are twice as likely to develop type 2 diabetes as people who are not being overweight. The only way to reduce the risk of this disease is losing weight through a healthy weight loss program.
