Allow yourself extra time the night before you are going to work, or if you work nights, the day of and lay out all the items you will need by your car keys (ID badge, lunch, etc.). Also, use this time to doublecheck your work schedule. Even when I KNOW something, I still check. The extra moment is well worth it. Imagine going to a doctor or flying somewhere and you had to wait hours because the doctor got his Wednesday and Saturday mixed up or the pilot screwed up his shift.

A lot of Add and Adhd people do well where they are their own boss. You have to know how you operate. Be like a mom or dad and tell your self to do this or that, otherwise you will not fulfill your potential. Pray. Ask God to show what would be the best past for you.

I’m ADHD as well. I think medacation is not needed in everyday life. It’s all in your head to choose want you wanna do with your time. People with ADHD is very gifted and have to learn to apply ourselves each and everyday without prescription’s or medication.

Something must be done about how this disease is diagnosed. It seems like now everyone and their brother has ADHD, and they use it as an excuse for everything.

“A disease or medical condition is an abnormal condition of an organism that impairs bodily functions, associated with specific symptoms and signs.” – Definition.

40% of the population with a certain alike characteristic (like so called “ADHD”) is not abnormal.

how do you get the teachers to understand that you need time to change a child that has been on med for 5 years he is 9 now and cps had control now i have control but they are so use to the child zombie that when he starts to come awake they complain about physical abuse on other children so i feel trapped

I was also told my daughter had ADHD when she was very young but I chose not to follow it up and so she wasn’t diagnosed by a doctor. My daughter is very hard work but she could have been alot worse if I’d have gone down the route some parents do and medicate their children……….
As it stands, she’s always in trouble at school, she’s disobedient and wants her own way all the time. In other words, she’s acting like many other 14yr old girls……she’ll be ok.

  14. MrNeo2001 Says:

Controlling anxiety with drugs like Effexor helps, because it offers the ability to stop cyclic thinking & impulsive behaviors. When your mind travels in loops such as “What if’s?” it’s harder to focus and under a certain degree of stress it becomes impossible to accomplish any goals or even eat and sleep for people who have ADHD. Unfortunately people who have never lived with the condition make life far worse for those with ADHD by attempting to shame them into changing what they cannot.

  15. ekorre33 Says:

If you think exercise and a healthy diet can replace medication for adhd, you need to get a new job. How can somebody so fucking stupid be a doctor. I have adhd, exercise and a healthy lifestyle have not reduced my problems one iota. Nada, nil, zippo, zilsch. So, please shut the fuck up with your diet and exercise bullshit you dumbass mother funker!

  16. threadysparrow Says:

mr neo im so glad someone like you said what i was thinking. it is hurtful and offensive when i hear people talk badly about ADHD or about parents who medicate their children. i have been on concerta for 10 years and i am almost done with my undergrad work. i think the medication allowed me to be me rather than letting the biology of my brain interfere with my life. and people attack medication without knowing a god damned thing about it and then think they are right and we are the bad guys.

  17. MrNeo2001 Says:

ekorre33, the advantages to a healthier diet and regular exercise are still helpful to the rest of the body, but it will not change your physiology. In the case of a physio-neurological disorder like ADHD diet and exercise has very little if no impact on the condition itself. Vitamin B Complex still remains needed by the brain, so should never be ignored in your diet. I have never found any treatment(s), diets, exercises, pills, therapy’s, behavior modifications, etc…that I considered cure

  18. ekorre33 Says:

Ah, Mr Neo2001, that’s interesting! Was not aware of that! Do you think it would be worthwhile adding vitamin B complex on a daily basis?? My frustrated earlier response is a result of listening to too many people who downplay the seriousness of my condition-adhd. Appreciate your opinion, be glad if you offer some advice on this – seem like you know what you’re talking about.

  19. threadysparrow Says:

people get doctoral degrees in things that have nothing to do with the field of medicine or psychology. therefore they are able to call themselves Dr. McFingerblast and get away with it and people believe them as an authority.

  20. threadysparrow Says:

neo nobody who has any sort of psychiatric training and is still considered an authority by the NIH will say that diet and exercise can help cure adhd. but quacks still have a following because people are skeptical of “the man” and view the medical community as some sort of legion of doom. but the majority of youtube videos about adhd are retarded because its the only place that most quacks can talk about their dumb retarded nonsense. and most of their followers will never have a say in medicine

  21. MrNeo2001 Says:

I’ve always used multi-vitamin supplements, adding broccoli and other fruits & vegetables to my diet. What I was explaining before though, none of this will cure you. You’ll feel better & maybe have slightly improved memory & focus…but overall the same problems are there. ADHD gets worse with aging, unfortunately.

  22. hibbittino Says:

i want to marry this man!

  23. draghn Says:

I posted a video that’s right in line with this. Meds are not an instant-cure!

  24. threadysparrow Says:

and there IS NO CURE YOU RETARDS! IF THERE WAS A CURE THEN YOUR DOCTOR WOULD NOT HAVE YOU TAKE A BUNCH OF MEDICATION FOR YEARS AND YEARS THEY WOULD JUST GIVE YOU YOUR VITAMIN
